The National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine is one of Ukraine’s leading institutions of education, science, and culture. The NUBiP organizational structure includes 16 faculties and their relevant departments on climate, food/soil, and water. The NUBiP’s strategy is to enhance its knowledge excellence and strengthen its portfolio in the field of climate resilience research to develop inter-disciplinary research programs to increase the capacities of research teams and critical mass in this area.
NUBiP has high potential because of its central role in the national network of agrarian universities (e.g., 8th in the national universities ranking), solid cooperations with at least 40 agro-businesses and/or international organizations, and its deep disciplinary-oriented research profile in climate, food (soil), and water (40 BSc and 71 MSc programs covering those disciplines). The NUBiP has partly initiated inter-disciplinary research projects such as a modern food safety laboratory for soil, water, and food quality to support regional resources management, and three scientific farms for sustainable food production.
